Our client located in Varennes in the energy industry is looking for a Contract and Procurement Manager at their construction site for a temporary contract between 12-18 months.

On a daily basis you will have to:

• Manage the supplier database.
• Find new suppliers.
• Participate in the definition of procurement strategies (SFT) and ensure their implementation throughout a project.
• Apply the tendering process and contract administration procedures; complete the required exemptions as needed.
• Prepare tender documents according to technical specifications.
• Obtain proposals, prepare commercial recommendations and coordinate technical analysis.
• Ensure that the best quality/price ratio is obtained for services by meeting the established specifications.
• Coordinate site visits, clarification meetings, kick-off and coordination meetings during the course of a contract.
• Validate, negotiate and limit the addition of work to the initial contract.
• On behalf of the client, interpret contractual clauses and make the necessary arrangements to enforce them.
• Negotiate credits and surcharges according to work revisions and issue revisions of purchase requisitions.
• Negotiate the various claims following situations of non-compliance.
• Manage delivery times.

Requirements:

• Training in procurement or administration and practical knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of procurement.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in construction contract management
• Knowledge of procurement terms and conditions (Incoterms) and relevant laws.
• Fluency in French and English required occasionally since the person will collaborate with clients outside of Quebec, both written and oral.
