On a daily basis, you will have to:

• Design, optimize, develop, implement and maintain equipment control and programming strategies.
• Provide technical advice and support to maintenance and operations teams to resolve recurring problems identified using continuous improvement methods.
• Optimize processes (programs, operator interfaces, equipment productivity).
• Popularize technical information and work in collaboration with electro-instrumentation technicians and operations people;
• Analyze and develop solutions to recurring problems (troubleshooting)é
• Be responsible for updating drawings and programs related to equipment control.
• Ensure the proper functioning of the equipment control system maintenance.
• Ensure that compliance with standards and policies in health and safety, the environment, quality and responsible management are integrated into all activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in automated production engineering or electric.
• Experience with the AutoCAD software.
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (asset).
• 2 to 10 years of experience in the field.

• The ability to quickly converge in problem solving.
• Knowledge of industrial automation (asset).
• Knowledge of PLC programming, human-machine interfaces (HMI), distributed control systems (DCS) and safety systems (asset).
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and power distribution (asset).
• A keen sense of resourcefulness.
• Fluency in French and English required occasionally since the person will collaborate with colleagues and clients outside of Quebec, both written and oral.
